Welcome!

My name is Parker and I’m based in the greater Chicagoland area. I teach Communications, Media, and Marketing at a Chicago-based university and am finishing up my doctorate in Higher Education Leadership, where my research focuses on equitable grading practices in undergraduate education.
I started this blog in 2013 when I was nearly 20 and itching to break out of my self, the place I grew up in, and the cultural scripts I had grown to operate within. This blog was, and is, a reflection of my journey to finding the pieces: who I am, where I belong, and how I see and move through the world.
I’ll write about whatever inspires me on this blog, but some themes that will likely come up include my quest to find home and family, faith and spirituality as an exvangelical, and my journey as a trans man. I’m not sure I’ll write about my health and weight loss again, though I’m always up for a change of direction.
You can also find me on YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram. Most posts from this blog are also posted on Medium.
