Why do we tell stories? Whether it was used for religious purposes or passing down a people’s history through the tradition of oral storytelling, the human race has been telling stories since before writing was even invented. The only thing that has really changed over the years is that we are able to share stories on a much wider platform with the help of (more…)
I know it’s technically not Saturday anymore, but today’s video was having a hard time uploading tonight. After hours of waiting, however, it’s finally up! The 5K went great, it was an amazing experience, and I can’t wait to do it again!
This week has been crazy busy. I had a meeting with my general manager at work on Monday and was asked to continue working until I leave for Oxford, which was a big surprise considering how I was supposed to be laid off next week. I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to keep working, but this does mean that my schedule won’t be what I was expecting it to be this Summer. (more…)
We’re four days into the five week Summer fitness challenge, and so far everything is going great. In today’s video I wanted to talk about my goals of not drinking coffee and not eating sugar, something that I thought was going to be kind of hard but rewarding in the end.
Even though this is only my second video, I’m beginning to gain a much greater respect and appreciation for all those people that are editing and uploading videos every single day. It takes a lot of time and effort, and I’m sure I don’t put half the effort into my videos as some other people do. This is turning into a great learning experience, and I can’t wait to see where it goes from here.
Thank you guys for watching this video and reading my random thoughts, it means more than you can ever imagine.
Comment Question: How are you guys doing with the challenge so far? I really want to hear how you’re doing! Let me know in the comment section down below! And BONUS question: what’s your favorite color and why? (I really want to know!)
I duck my head away from the low-hung branches and feel my way carefully across the tangled obstacle of roots, rocks, and sticks. This half-covered entrance to this place serves as a hidden portal whose access is given to the few that have stumbled upon it. Once past the partition, the space above expands, but the sky is still concealed by the leafy ceiling overhead. (more…)
Hey guys, I’ll make this short and sweet. Even though it took seventeen attempts and test-runs to get the right angle and lighting (and an additional attempt in which I talked to the camera for five minutes straight, only to realize that it wasn’t on), I finally got enough footage to work with. My editing skills are a bit rough, but hopefully that will change over time. So, as promised, here is my first of (hopefully) many videos for the five week Summer fitness challenge: (more…)
Hello. My name is Erica, and I am a (recovering) procrastinator. We’re all guilty of this treacherous habit on some level or another, or at least that’s what I like to think when I’m kicking myself for putting another project off until the last minute. While many a college student has tried to convince the world and their skeptical professors that they are not putting off work but that they simply “work best under pressure,” I’ll be the first to say that (more…)

Summer of 2012 was an amazing Summer, but not because of any vacations or trips to the beach. My Summer last year wasn’t so much about relaxing, but instead it was about starting on a path to becoming a healthier me. Well, it’s Summer time again, and even though I’ve continued with eating healthy and trying to exercise, I’ve been struggling to find the motivation that I need to really push myself. (more…)
We are gathered here today to remember the life of a friend that was once a very important part of my life: Isaiah “Izzy” the Great: the little blue Hyundai that could.
Though he was small and often referred to as a clown car or tin-can on wheels, he was strong and resilient. He was the trusty steed that got me to school and work, almost always in one piece. Through the treacherous winter’s of Michigan he pushed forth, only losing grip of the icy pavement to fish-tail through busy intersections on a few occasions. (more…)
If you have any Facebook friends that actively share what they find on Pinterest, then there is a good chance that you may have been introduced to the idea of inspiration boards, even if you haven’t realized that’s what they’re called. Granted, most of the ones online tend to be used to plan dream weddings or nurseries, but inspiration boards can (more…)
