Writer’s block is not something that I am unfamiliar with; on the contrary, it’s something that I struggle with often. Most times I come up against a creative wall, however, I am able to break through it fairly quickly. Today, on the other hand, is a little bit different. Not only do I have no idea what to write about, but I don’t really care to try very hard to think of something super creative.

Why the lack of motivation, you ask? Well, I woke up Tuesday morning feeling like I had been tied to the back of a moving vehicle and dragged recklessly down the freeway for hours, so as you can probably imagine just about everything in my body seems to be out of order, including my ability to write.

Now I don’t know about you, but when I am sick there are a few things that I tend to do to help me feel better. First, lots of sleep. I don’t actually like this part, but my body has a tendency to pass out every few hours when I’m sick, so I kind of just listen to what my body tells me it needs. Second, lots of liquids. No matter what I am sick with, food doesn’t ever sound that appealing to me, so I try to drink lots of water. Third, easy entertainment that doesn’t make my head hurt, which is where the YouTube videos and Harry Potter books come in.

I tried adding writing an interesting blog post to my list of sicktivities (that is now a word), but it didn’t turn out the way I was hoping it might. So I’m sorry this post wasn’t very interesting or entertaining, but I figured I should at least write something rather than not write anything at all. Hopefully Friday’s post will be much better. Until then, I’m going to go be sick a little while longer, but I hope you all have a wonderful rest of you week!

I just reread lots of childhood favorites and try to drink lots of liquids. Hope you are better soon.

Thanks 🙂 There’s just something about rereading books that you loved as a kid that seem to make you feel just a little bit better!

I sleep and watch trashy talk shows. Love the term “sicktivities” by the way!

Rest, rest, and more rest. Which it’s hard with three kids. Hope you feel better soon!
